Virtual reality can bring the iPhone user experience

Apple Inc. is an American multinational technology company headquartered in Cupertino, California, that designs, develops, and sells consumer electronics, computer software, and online services.

Although Apple has been fairly tight lipped about whether or not it will be foraying into virtual reality, its fans can rejoice as they can experience virtual reality with a new iPhone case, Figment VR. Currently a crowdfunding project on Kickstarter, the product is being made by Silicon Valley-based startup Quantum Bakery LLC, which aims to raise $75,000 by January, 2016.

You will be forgiven if you confuse the Figment VR for a random iPhone case, but a closer inspection will reveal a pair of lenses that slide and snap out and work like a virtual reality viewer. Made of polycarbonate plastic, the case comes with a silicone rubber coating and has scratch resistant lenses. However, it will only work with iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6S, and iPhone 6S Plus.

Figment VR’s shipment will begin in March 2016 at $79, but early pledgers can buy it for $49.

The comfort of shopping from literally anywhere using the iPhone, clubbed with the deals e-commerce websites offer, have emerged as the real reasons behind the rise of online shopping globally, and more recently in India. This experience can get even better with virtual reality. Virtual reality can also enable us to see how the outfit we have selected is looking on us.
